TOURISM
Thanks to its outstanding natural, historical and cultural assets Rhône-Alpes has established an international reputation as a prime tourist destination. The mountains are obviously the region’s main force of attraction, for both winter sports and summer leisure activities. Water too is a precious resource, encouraging the development of spas and river holidays.

Rhône-Alpes has a huge variety of tourist attractions. With almost 200 ski resorts it is home to a large proportion of France’s skiing centres. But it also boasts a number of famous spas and superb lakes, several of them ringed by mountains. Visitors on short-breaks to its cities will find an impressive range of artistic, historic and religious sights of interest. Business travel benefits from the favourable environment and a high concentration of amenities.
