Vizille Domain

Vizille Domain, located just a few kilometres outside of Grenoble, is the largest tourist area in the Isère Department. It houses a 17th Century Castle which is a listed historical monument, a museum, park and grounds which have been awarded the "Magnificent Grounds" label for their beauty.

Since 1983 the French Revolution Museum has been located within the castle at Vizille Domain. The museum has a wide collection of works of art and historical objects from the Revolution and has an interest in everything that relates to this historical period or which has been inspired by this time over two centuries. The collection focuses on the major events, which took place in Paris, and opens out to look into art and history in French regions and the neighbouring European countries.

The park at Vizille Domain is an area propitious to relaxation and discovery, with its large lake and many canals. A rosary sits within the French gardens. Swans, geese, grey herons, deer and bucks all roam free in the animal park.
